Brownies & Frownies: Browns steamroll the Steelers in playoff opener

The Cleveland Browns exorcised several demons in Sunday night’s Wild Card win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The dominant 48-37 victory was the Browns:

  • First win at Heinz Field since October 5, 2003
  • First playoff win ever against the Steelers
  • First playoff win since January 1, 1995
  • First road playoff win since December 28, 1969

The Browns pulled it off without head coach Kevin Stefanski, several assistant coaches, left guard Joel Bitonio, defensive end Olivier Vernon and cornerback Denzel Ward. They also lost right tackle Jack Conklin and left guard Michael Dunn during the game to injuries.
