Baker Mayfield couldn’t care less about what number QB he is for Browns

BEREA, OH — Since 1999, the Browns have had 29 different quarterback’s start a game. When rookie Baker Mayfield takes the field against the Raiders on Sunday, he’ll be the 30th, after officially being named the team’s starting QB on Monday. And while two decades worth of failed quarterback projects has created quite the revisionist history for Browns fans to hang onto, Mayfield couldn’t care less.

“It’s 2018. Don’t really care,” the No. 1 overall pick asserted when asked about being QB No. 30.

That’s the attitude you can expect consistently from Mayfield now that the spotlight is officially fixated on him.
