CLEVELAND, Ohio -- This is a short story, but a tall tale at the same time. The Browns have released Andrew Hawkins, who defied all odds at 5-7 and started 28 games for the Browns over the last three seasons.
In addition, he was an inspirational leader of the team and one of Hue Jackson's biggest advocates, dating back to their days in Cincinnati together,
Hawkins, who will be 31 in March, was due to make $1.8 million in 2017 in the last year of his Browns deal.
In a video on the Uninterrupted, Hawkins thanked the fans, his teammate, Jackson and the Browns for giving him a chance.
