The Browns selected Louisiana-Monroe cornerback Trey Caldwell in the fifth round (No. 173 overall) of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
The 5-foot-9, 188-pound Caldwell started 12 of 13 games last season and compiled a career-high 52 tackles, 10 passes defensed and an interception returned for a touchdown.
NFLDraftScout.com analyst Dane Brugler ranked Caldwell 76th out of 81 corners in this year's draft. Analyst Nolan Nawrocki ranked him 45th among 95 corners in his draft guide.
