After a blocked punt by veteran safety Tyler Venables, Clemson marched down the field to retake the lead in Saturday’s game vs. Duke at Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers faked a high snap to quarterback Cade Klubnik and snapped the ball directly to defensive tackle Peter Woods, who rumbled into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown with 8:25 left in the third quarter, giving Clemson a 35-28 lead.
Woods’ touchdown — his second of the season — capped a seven-play, 50-yard drive that lasted just over four minutes.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, they allowed a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the ensuing kickoff return by Sahmir Hagans, as Duke tied the game back up at 35 all.
