Clemson added a big piece to its 2027 recruiting class on Thursday.
Four-star in-state wideout Trey Wimbley announced a commitment to the Tigers, about a week after picking up an offer, as well as announcing he was reclassifying up from the 2028 class.
Wimbley is the fifth commitment of the 2027 Clemson recruiting class and the first wide receiver. He was on hand for every home game this season.
Wimbley is a local product out of nearby Daniel High School. Usually, when fans hear about a commit coming from Daniel, it is quickly followed by a roll of the eyes.
