After suffering a torn ACL in last week’s ACC Tournament, all Carter Welling could do was watch from the sideline as Clemson lost to Iowa 67-61 in the South Regional of the NCAA Tournament at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa on Friday.
Welling’s absence was certainly felt, as the Hawkeyes won the battle on the boards 36-24, while also winning on the offensive glass 13-8. The 6-foot-11 big man was the Tigers’ leading rebounder this year.
With the season now over, Welling can turn his attention toward his recovery, as his surgery is scheduled for next week.
