Visit from champs ‘really means a lot’ to Maryland prospect

A couple of talented teammates from St. Vincent Pallotti High in Laurel, Md., were paid a visit by Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and defensive line coach Todd Bates on Monday, the first day the Tigers’ staff hit the road during the ongoing spring evaluation period.

The coaches went to look at 2020 prospects Blake Corum, a running back, and Coziah Izzard, a defensive end/outside linebacker. Though they are only freshmen, the two already have more than a dozen scholarship offers between them.

Izzard, who was first offered by Maryland five games into his high school career, spoke with The Clemson Insider and said he appreciates the coaches coming by.
