Transfer Gives Tigers ‘Different Type of Receiver That We Needed’

Among the three players Clemson added via the transfer portal this offseason is Tristan Smith.

The senior wide receiver joined the Tigers following a strong season at FCS school Southeast Missouri State in 2024, when he earned second-team Big South-OVC Football Association all-conference honors after catching 76 passes for 934 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games.

Smith has drawn plenty of positive reviews from his new Clemson teammates and coaches over the offseason, and fellow wideout Antonio Williams was the latest to speak highly of Smith.

As Williams alluded to, Smith gives the Tigers something they have not had in a while at wide receiver.
