CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Clemson five-star quarterback commit Trevor Lawrence put on a show and shined on the national stage Saturday night.
Lawrence, the country’s top-ranked pocket passer, completed 18 of 22 passes for 403 yards and four touchdowns to lead Cartersville (Ga.) to a 52-45 victory over Bartram Trail (St. Johns, Fla.) in a game that was nationally televised by ESPN.
Lawrence was brilliant from the start and guided Cartersville to scores on each of the team’s six first-half possessions. The Hurricanes took a 38-24 lead into locker room, thanks in large part to three touchdown passes by Lawrence, including scoring throws of 82 and 36 yards.
