Cartersville (Ga.) five-star quarterback Trevor Lawrence amazed on the national stage Saturday night, wowing viewers during a primetime game on the ESPN network.
The Clemson commitment made big play after big play as he completed 18 of 22 passes for 403 yards and four touchdowns, leading Cartersville to a 52-45 victory over Bartram Trail (St. Johns, Fla.).
The Clemson Insider was on hand for the contest as part of our Tour of Champions, and caught up with Cartersville head coach Joey King afterward.
“He played really good, made some really good decisions,” King said. “And then he’s there pulling for the defense and encouraging people, and that’s what good quarterbacks do, so we’re definitely tickled about him.
