Clemson used an 18-6 run to close out the first half, and then extended its lead to as many as 21 points in the second half in beating Davidson, 95-76, in the first round of the Tire Pros Invitational on Thursday morning.
The 95 points were the most by a Clemson team since 2009 win it scored 102 points against Winthrop. The Tigers outscored Davidson 21-4 from points off turnovers.
With the Tigers clinging to a 29-28 lead with 9:51 to go in the first half, they used defense and big baskets from Gabe DeVoe, Avry Holmes, Jaron Blossomgame and Marcquise Reed.
