Swinney Talks Backup OL Situation with Thurmon Sidelined

Related Topics: Dabo Swinney, lineman, Elijah Thurmon

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said Tuesday that offensive guard Elyjah Thurmon is day-to-day after getting injured during practice last week ahead of the UNC game, and that Thurmon will be out for this Saturday’s game at Boston College.

Swinney met with the media again Wednesday evening and was asked about the Tigers’ backup situation on the offensive line, with Thurmon ruled out for a second straight week.

Thurmon being out doesn’t impact Clemson’s top group of offensive linemen and the starters are still the same, but Swinney named fifth-year senior Dietrick Pennington and redshirt freshman Mason Wade as two O-linemen that are in the mix as backups.
