CLEMSON — Coming into fall camp, one of the few position battles centered around who will be doing the punting for Clemson this season.
Many thought Dabo Swinney should have gone to the portal for a punter, but the head coach chose not to, insisting he was comfortable with who was already on the roster.
Jack Smith, Will McCune and former placekicker Robert Gunn are the ones currently battling it out, and after the first scrimmage of camp on Saturday, there is no more clarity than there was when camp began. However, Swinney maintains that he is mostly pleased with some of the results, but that he is still looking for more consistency.
