Swinney: Notre Dame Series Gives Clemson ‘Options’

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. — Clemson and Notre Dame agreeing to a 12-year series that begins in 2027 is a win for everybody. And in a multitude of ways.

First and foremost, it’s a win for the fans, but head coach Dabo Swinney believes it runs much deeper than pleasing the fanbases. With the rapidly changing landscape in college football, Swinney says it sets both programs up nicely from a scheduling standpoint, seeing how there’s so little clarity about what the schedules might look like just a few short years from now.

“It just gives us a lot of options,” Swinney told The Clemson Insider, who is at the ACC Spring Meetings for the 13th consecutive year at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island.
