Swinney Goes to Bat for Tom Allen

CLEMSON — When Dabo Swinney brought Tom Allen in to be his new defensive coordinator, he was not expecting the former Indiana head coach and Penn State defensive coordinator to be a miracle worker.

The Tigers (3-5, 2-4 ACC) were not very good in 2024 under former DC Wes Goodwin. They ranked ninth in the ACC in total defense (374.1 ypg) and 16th in rushing defense (160.6 ypg), while allowing 23.4 points per game.

And though Swinney did not expect miracles, he did expect to see some improvement. But right now, that is not the case.
