Clemson broke out an unusual uniform combination this past Saturday, wearing its purple jersey over white pants with the orange helmet when it played Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
During his weekly radio show Monday night, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked what the primary decision behind wearing the purple jerseys was, and if the Tigers will do that again anytime soon.
“We may,” Swinney said.
Swinney explained that the Tigers went with the purple jerseys because Georgia Tech chose to wear white as the home team, something that doesn’t typically happen.
“It was just kind of a weird situation, in that we’re not the true home team on the road, and they chose to wear their whites,” Swinney said.
