Clemson senior wide receiver Tristan Smith is on the list of potential Senior Day honorees that Clemson released on Monday ahead of Saturday’s Senior Day game vs. Furman at Memorial Stadium (4:30 p.m., The CW).
However, with Smith having spent his first two seasons at the JUCO level playing for Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, many have wondered whether or not he could possibly be granted an extra year of eligibility.
There have been several examples of players who have played at the JUCO level being granted extra years of eligibility, most notably Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia.
Smith is attempting to get that extra year, so during his weekly radio show Monday night, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked if he has any update on the process to get another year of eligibility for Smith.
