Spurrier Comes to Defense of Swinney

Every national analyst from coast to coast has weighed in on Clemson’s 1-3 start at this point.

Now, Dabo Swinney’s old nemesis, Steve Spurrier, has chimed in.

Spurrier, who was 5-2 against Swinney during his tenure at rival South Carolina, came to Swinney’s defense on the Another Dooley Noted podcast.

“My buddy Dabo lost again,” Spurrier said. “They’re having all kinds of issues up there, but they’ll be alright. They’ve won enough to have a bad year every now and then.”

After losing three of its first four games, Swinney is off to his worst start since becoming the Tigers’ full-time head coach following the 2008 season.
