The college football landscape has shifted once again.
The Division 1 Football Subdivision Committee has recommended a change that would remove the spring Transfer Portal window.
The current system features two windows. One that opens in December, and one that opens in April after spring practices have mostly wrapped up. The change would eliminate the April window, giving players just one window each year.
Under the new recommendation, undergraduate and postgraduate FBS student-athletes would be allowed to enter the Transfer Portal between January 2 and January 11. This is notable because it takes place after the early signing period in December.
