CLEMSON — Clemson tight end Ian Schieffelin will be available Saturday when No. 8 Clemson hosts Troy at Memorial Stadium.

The former Clemson basketball star, who transitioned from basketball to football in the summer, missed last week’s loss to LSU due to a suspension. Schieffelin was suspended after his Aug. 17 arrest for what initially was a driving under the influence charge.

However, Schieffelin was able to plea the charge down to a lesser offense of reckless driving. According to the Greenville News’ Derrian Carter, Schieffelin will pay $600 to the Community Foundation of Greater Clemson and must prepare and present 12 one-hour presentations to middle- or high-school children about drug and alcohol awareness and the consequences of those decisions.
