Renfrow Released by Panthers

Legendary former Clemson wide receiver Hunter Renfrow has been released by the Carolina Panthers heading into Saturday’s playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams, the Panthers announced Tuesday.

Renfrow originally signed with the Panthers this past April, attempting an NFL comeback after missing the entire 2024 season while dealing with health challenges stemming from a diagnosis of the autoimmune condition ulcerative colitis.

After releasing Renfrow ahead of the NFL roster cutdown deadline in late August, despite an impressive training camp, the Panthers re-signed him shortly thereafter. He played in Carolina’s first six games this season but has been inactive since.
