ATLANTA — Marcquise Reed noticed Abdoulaye Gueye, Georgia Tech’s No. 4 position player, was guarding him when he got the ball off a high screen with 30 seconds left to play in the game.
“When I saw I had a No.4 guarding me, I’m going to take it to the basket,” Reed said.
And that’s what he did. The Tigers’ guard drove straight by Gueye and laid the ball in for what turned out to be the game-winner with 24 seconds to play in No. 17 Clemson’s 72-70 victory at the McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta.
Reed finished the game with 11 of his 13 points, all in the second half, while dishing out 11 assists and grabbing five rebounds.
