CLEMSON — Earlier on Friday, Clemson shortstop Andrew Ciufo earned a graduate degree in athletic leadership. That night he led the ninth-ranked Tigers to a 9-7 victory over Duke in a key ACC matchup for both schools.
With his new degree in hand, Ciufo went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs, including a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning that sealed the Tigers’ victory at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Ciufo also had an RBI hit with the bases loaded in a six-run fourth inning that gave Clemson a 6-2 lead at the time.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 38-13 overall and 15-10 in the ACC, while the Blue Devils fall to 33-16 and 14-11 in the league.
