Ninth inning rally lifts Tigers

For the second year in a row it looked like Clemson would follow up a series win over South Carolina with a home loss to Winthrop. Seth Beer’s double to center tied the game in the ninth and Robert Jolly drove home the winning run as Clemson defeated Winthrop 4-3.

Jake Higginbotham got his third start of the year for the Tigers. Higginbotham went 4.1 innings and gave up three hits, three runs and three earned runs. Ryley Gilliam faced one batter and was relieved by Pat Krall who went 2.0 innings and gave up no hits and no runs.
