CLEMSON — On a team full of newcomers, it was transfer Efrem “Butta” Johnson who sparked the Tigers early as Clemson knocked off Presbyterian 83-44 in exhibition action on Friday night inside Littlejohn Coliseum.
With the Tigers struggling to score early on, Johnson connected on three consecutive three-pointers to help kickstart a 21-2 run that saw Clemson turn a five-point deficit into a 16-point lead, as Brad Brownell’s team took a 35-19 lead into the break.
Five minutes into the second half, and the Tigers were up 49-23, as Carter Wahlin and Jestin Porter hit 3-pointers and Nick Davidson had a powerful dunk.
