Incoming Clemson Transfer Selected in MLB Draft

An incoming Clemson transfer has heard his name called in the MLB Draft.

OF Ryan Wideman was selected by the San Diego Padres in the third round of the 2025 draft with the 99th overall pick. Before any bonus pool money use, the pick is slotted $773,100.

The former Western Kentucky star was ranked No. 146 overall by MLB.com.

Wideman, whose father starred on the hardwood for the Tigers in the 1990s, spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at the JUCO level, starring for Georgia Highlands College, where he was a two-time JUCO All-American and also appeared in the JUCO World Series.
