The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday that they have released former Tiger wide receiver Cornell Powell.

The Steelers had signed Powell to their practice squad last Tuesday.

Powell previously signed with the Houston Texans on Aug. 19 before being waived on Aug. 26 as part of final roster cuts.

Powell played with the United Football League’s DC Defenders earlier this year. He recorded 29 receptions during the regular season and ranked eighth in the UFL with 418 receiving yards, while he was first in the league with seven touchdown receptions.
