Former Clemson golfer qualifies for Open Championship

Former Clemson All-American and US Amateur Champion Doc Redman finished second at the Rocket Mortgage Classic on the PGA Tour on Sunday with a score of 19-under-par 269.

With the second-place finish, Redman receives an invitation to the Open Championship in three weeks at Royal Port Rush in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He also will receive conditional status on the PGA Tour for the remainder of the PGA Tour season, including next week’s 3M Classic in Minneapolis, Minn.

Redman will join former Tigers Kyle Stanley and Lucas Glover at The Open Championship, the final Major on the PGA Tour schedule.
