CLEMSON — With Clemson senior receiver Tristan Smith having spent his first two seasons at the JUCO level playing for Hutchinson Community College, many have wondered whether or not the wideout could possibly be granted an extra year of eligibility.

There have been several examples of players who have played at the JUCO level being granted extra years of eligibility, most notably Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia.

After Smith caught his first touchdown as a Tiger against SMU on Saturday, he revealed he is attempting to get that extra year.

“It’s in the works,” Smith told TCI after the loss to the Mustangs.
