CLEMSON — Clemson football is off to its worst start in 21 years thanks to Saturday’s 34-21 loss to Syracuse at Memorial Stadium.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 1-3 to start the year, their worst under Dabo Swinney and the program’s worst start to a season since 2004. They also fell to 0-2 in the ACC, their worst start in league play since 2010.
Following Saturday’s game, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked if he ever thought about pulling starting quarterback Cade Klubnik for backup Christopher Vizzina. The senior completed 37 of 60 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns.
