Collins Clutch for Clemson all Weekend

CLEMSON – Shortstop Marian Collins personally called game in all three of Clemson’s wins in the Clemson Regional Tournament.

On Friday, the freshman sprinted home from second base as fellow underclassman Taylor Pipkins roped a double, putting the Tigers up 10-2 over USC Upstate. When the Marietta, Ga., native stomped on home plate and was swarmed by her cheering teammates, No. 11 overall seed Clemson had clinched its first NCAA Regional victory in just five innings.

Collins went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs against Upstate. Her outing included a two-run double and a first-inning single that jump-started the Tigers’ offense.
