Coastal Carolina Knocks Off Clemson, Sweeps Midweek Series

CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina held to just five base hits as the No. 14 Chanticleers knocked off No. 9 Clemson 5-3 on Tuesday night at Springs Brooks Park in Conway. The win gives Coastal a sweep of the home-and-home midweek series this season while Clemson finishes just 1-6 on its seven-game road swing.

Tryston McCladdie finished with three of the Tigers’ hits, including a solo homer in the third. Cam Cannarella also drove in a run, finishing the night 1-for-4, while Luke Gaffney added a late RBI single, going 1-for-3 at the plate.

In the first start of his career, Nathan Dvorsky suffered the loss (4-1) for Clemson (37-13), allowing two runs on three hits in two innings of work.
