Coach Speak: Former NFL player talks top-100 Clemson target

St. Louis (Mo.) De Smet four-star cornerback Jakailin “JK” Johnson is one of several class of 2021 prospects that picked up an offer from Clemson last week.

Cornerbacks coach Mike Reed (pictured above) dropped by De Smet Jesuit High School on Friday to convey the offer to Johnson, a consensus top-100 recruit ranked as high as the nation’s No. 3 cornerback and No. 29 overall prospect by Rivals.

“Coach Reed came through,” De Smet head coach Robert Steeples told The Clemson Insider. “He kind of talked about his knowledge of the position and how he thought JK fit their position.
