Clemson Transfer Headed to SEC

One former Clemson defender has found his new home.

Former Tiger safety Khalil Barnes has committed to Georgia. Barnes visited Athens on Saturday.

Barnes burst onto the scene in his debut season in 2023, earning freshman All-American honors while becoming the first Clemson player in the Dabo Swinney era to record multiple forced fumbles and multiple interceptions in a freshman season.

As a junior in 2025, Barnes recorded 46 tackles (one for loss) and five pass breakups in 521 defensive snaps over 10 games (nine starts). It marked the first season of his career that he did not record an interception.
