Clemson Signee Named Gatorade Player of Year

One of Clemson’s new signees is taking home some hardware.

Four-star TE Tayveon Wilson has been named the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of West Virginia. He also earned Mountain State Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2025 after leading Huntington to a 9-3 record and the state AAAA quarterfinals.

Wilson was a do-it-all type player at Huntington Prep as a senior, throwing for 1,400 yards with 17 touchdown passes. He added another 750 yards via his legs, with 10 more scoring runs.

He was a three-time all-conference, all-state and All-Tri-State selection from 2023-25 and finished with 950 or more career yards in three different categories, posting 1,407 passing yards, 950 rushing yards and 1,103 receiving yards during his high school career.
