A Clemson signee finished his high school career on Saturday on an extremely high note in AT&T Stadium.
Three-star CB Marcell Gipson had two tackles and a key pass break-up late, as he helped his South Oak Cliff team to a 35-19 win over Randle in the UIL Class 5A Division II state championship in Texas. Gipson’s pass breakup was nearly a highlight reel interception, but he came down just out of bounds.
Gipson committed to Clemson back in March, shortly after the Elite Retreat, and will enroll next month. The rangy defensive back earned first-team all-district honors in each of his final three seasons.
