CLEMSON — One thing I have learned in my many years of covering football is this – the game is not complicated.
Winning football games comes down to two things, and if you are not good at one of these two things you are not going to win.
It is that simple.
I do not care if you have Vince Lombardi as your head coach, Tom Brady as your quarterback, Jerry Rice catching passes, Jim Brown running the football, Dick Butkus playing middle linebacker, Jack Ham at outside backer, Mel Blount at corner and Ronnie Lott at safety – if you are not good in the trenches, you are not winning football games.
