CLEMSON – Isaiah Simmons, Chad Smith, and Jamie Skalski are penciled as the three starters at linebacker for Clemson heading into this week’s start of fall camp, and a trio that defensive coordinator Brent Venables really likes.
“That is a group of guys - that threesome - that is intelligent and as smart of a group as we've had,” Venables said.
Simmons is the most experienced of the group and is poised for an All-American year. He transitioned from safety in 2017 to the starting nickel/sam linebacker position in 2018.
