Out of all the prospects in the 2018 recruiting class, Clemson’s Xavier Thomas was named the lowest risk recruit. This means that his floor as a player is extremely high.
Barton Simmons has been covering college recruiting for some time now. As such his assessment of Thomas speaks volumes. In naming Thomas the lowest risk prospect, Simmons wrote the following, “He (Thomas) has displayed great work ethic and a deliberate approach to working at his craft.”
Talent is certainly important in recruiting, however, a prospect’s dedication to the sport and work ethic are much more essential.
