ESPN unveiled a new player ratings system similar to video game style ratings for the previous 2018 season and heading into the 2019 season.
Several Clemson football players were mentioned in the ratings system, which is built on a mathematical model by ESPN Sports Analytics. The model rates a team’s performance while a player is on the field vs. the team’s performance when he is not on the field to come up with a numerical rating for the player.
