CLEMSON — Clemson keeps finding different ways to win softball games, and it did it once again in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over No. 3 seed Northwestern in Game 3 of the Clemson Regional.
This time the Tigers’ Aby Vieira scored on a suicide squeeze in the top of the ninth inning to beat the Wildcats. Freshman Marian Collins laid down a perfectly executed bunt on a 1-1 count to complete the squeeze.
“It was a hard fought battle,” Clemson head coach John Rittman said. “It was a lot of back and forth. It was a pitching duel.
