Clemson Comes Back To Avoid Upset, Beat Bears

CLEMSON – Nothing says ‘trap game’ quite like a daytime matchup one day after college finals conclude and four days after a gut-wrenching, buzzer beater loss to the No. 10 team in the country.

Although Clemson’s performance against the Mercer Bears at Littlejohn Coliseum Saturday was understandably and circumstantially flat, the Tigers found a way to secure a 70-63 win over the Bears after two consecutive tough top-ten losses.

Clutch-time free throws from Dillon Hunter, 16 second-half points in the paint to Mercer’s eight, and 22 bench points to Mercer’s six propelled the Tigers’ to their eighth win of the season.
