Clemson coach not happy with NCAA’s decision

Montel Lee knows what it is like to be a volunteer assistant coach. He spent seven of his first eight years as an assistant coach as a volunteer.

“It hits home with me,” Clemson’s head coach told The Clemson Insider. “I had to do lessons to make ends meet. I had to teach school part-time just to make ends meet and just to be able to get insurance for my family.”

Volunteer assistant coaches are just that … volunteers. They do not get paid a regular salary like the head coach and his two full-time assistants get.
