This Clemson assistant is reportedly headed to another ACC school.
Syracuse is hiring John Scott Jr. to be the program’s asst head coach, defensive run game coordinator and defensive line coach, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Scott has been a defensive assistant at Clemson the last two years. The veteran coach has also coached at a number of other schools, most recently Penn State (2020-22), South Carolina (2019) and Arkansas (2017-18).
In addition to his college coaching experience, Scott has NFL coaching experience from his time with the Detroit Lions in 2023 and the New York Jets from 2015-16.
