Erik Bakich continues to retool his roster through the transfer portal, and the latest acquisition is a big one.
Former Western Kentucky OF Ryan Wideman has committed to Clemson. Wideman is considered one of the top players in the portal regardless of position, and his father, Tom, starred for the Clemson basketball team back in the 1990s.
Last season with the Hilltoppers, Wideman was a menace to opposing pitchers, hitting .398 with 10 home runs and 68 RBI. He had a .652 slugging percentage, totaling 36 extra-base hits. He also stole 45 bases.
Wideman spent one season at Western Kentucky after two at Georgia Highlands College.
