Most years, Clemson tends to target a small number of running backs.
For example, in the current 2026 class, the Tigers have offered just three running backs. Four if you count Jaylen McGill, who eventually reclassified. In 2025, only two offers were extended, and both would ultimately result in commitments.
Looking to 2027, don’t expect that philosophy to change. So far, Clemson has offered just one running back, four-star David “Tre” Segarra. The 5-foot-10, 205-pound in-state (Byrnes) back was one of numerous players at the position to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp earlier this month.
