Cade Klubnik's meteoric rise is being fueled by sophomore "slump"

Cade Klubnik has had an interesting career thus far.

Coming to Clemson as a five-star recruit who had also won the Elite 11 Finals, everyone expected him to be the next star quarterback to play for Dabo Swinney.

Early on, he was forced to sit behind another five-star, DJ Uiagalelei, and wait his turn. He got that opportunity early on, taking over as the full-time starter as a sophomore, forcing an Uiagalelei transfer to Oregon State. He played fine, passing for just under 3,000 yards with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions, but the team just didn't take that step forward like everyone was hoping.
