Buckner, Rhem named to SC Hall of Fame

Former Clemson Basketball and NBA great Greg Buckner and Tiger baseball star Flint Rhem, who spent 12 years in the majors, will be inducted into the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame (SCAHOF) as announced by the organization Monday.

The Class of 2016 also includes: Barnwell’s Troy Brown, who collected three Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots, and South Carolina basketball standouts Art Whisnant, B.J. McKie and Martha Parker-Hester. The Citadel’s baseball great Richard Wieters, and legendary coach and administrator Buddy Sasser comprise the eight-member class.

The eight individuals will be forever enshrined with the state’s highest athletic honor on May 16th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
