Bad News for Shipley

Bad news for Philadelphia Eagles running back Will Shipley following his Week 1 injury.

The former Clemson star was injured in the Eagles’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys this past Thursday night, and according to multiple reports Tuesday, Shipley has a fractured rib that will cause him to miss a period of time.

This seemingly explains why the Eagles made the move to trade for Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby, in order to add running back depth and also help fill the void left by Shipley on kick returns.

Sources tell me Shipley does have a fractured rib and the move for Bigsby is not only to add depth at the RB position but bigsby can also help out on special teams including returning kicks…

Prior to his injury against the Cowboys, Shipley ran for 26 yards on three carries and also returned one kick for 12 yards.
